How to burn incense sticks properly:
Place your incense stick in an appropriate incense burner that will collect the ash as it falls.
Trim the stick as necessary to ensure a proper fit into the holder.
Light the end of the incense stick until a flame is established.
Gently extinguish by blowing or fanning out the flame.
The incense will then glow and begin to produce scented smoke.
